Established in 1994 by musician [[Vita Mavrič]], [[Café Teater]] is located in an old-style coffee house of the Union Hotel built during the Austro-Hungarian epoch in the centre of Ljubljana. It is a venue that offers both artistic experience and a unique social happening, with a programme comprising primarily cabaret, light comedy and musical drama. In addition to its regular main stage programme, Café Teater has for many years promoted the development of the Slovene chanson, and its most successful project is [[La Vie en Rose Festival of Chanson]].
