Established in the 1970s, Družina publishes around 70 books a year, mostly Roman Catholic texts but also including books on cultural monuments, eg an illustrated medieval fresco series of four monographs by art historian Professor Janez Hoefler. Družina also publishes the Družina Slovene Catholic Weekly which has appeared since 1952; since 1998 there has also been an online version. According to the National Research on Readership (http://www.nrb.info), in 2006 Družina was read weekly by 131,000 people, giving it a 7.8 per cent weekly reach.
