The Confucius Institute is a non-profit institution established by the Chinese state office Hanban (Office of Chinese Language Council International) for purpose of promoting and teaching Chinese language and culture. With China as the growing world economy, more than 300 institutes opened in 94 countries around the globe to serve as a platform for economical and cultural exchange. The Confucius Institute in Ljubljana was opened in 2010 at the Faculty of Economics at University of Ljubljana. It cooperates with the Faculty of Arts and Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade.


Programme overview

The Institute is aimed at students, citizens and companies interested in Chinese language and culture or business opportunities. The courses in Chinese language and business culture are organised in order to promote and establish economical and business exchange between Slovene and Chinese companies. The Institute also conducts researches, recently the research on business of Slovene companies in China was finished.
