Mission
The Society encourages collaboration between historians and others interested in history. In order to popularize historical investigations and findings, it organises conferences and public lectures. As a regional organisation, it provides educational activities and assistance in research projects to its members and promotes research in Slovene history, particularly the history of Celje and its surroundings. The Society publishes Zgodovina za vse (History for Everyone)
Cooperation
The Society promotes new scholarships in the theory of history and sociology and collaborates with teachers of history and offers assistance in teaching history and other related subjects. It is involved in active support for collecting, preserving and promoting cultural heritage by publishing materials about the protection of cultural heritage. co-operates with the Historical Association of Slovenia and other affiliated associations in Slovenia and abroad; publishes a biannual journal History for Everyone; and supports book series in which historians from the younger generation can publish works that either deal with the history of Celje or conceptually follow recent trends in the Slovene social sciences.
