Lavrič Library traces its origins back to 1864, when Dr. Karel Lavrič established Slovenia’s 11th reading room. It has branches in Vipava, Podnanos and Dobravlje and a mobile library which visits 46 stops every month. The library is located in a building of 743 square metres with a 45-seat reading room. Users have access to six PC workstations.

The library caters for the needs of Ajdovščina and Vipava population, totalling around 23,360 people. Its collection comprises a total of 100,000 units and 205 titles of magazines, plus DVDs, CDs and CD-ROMs. Its 8,000 registered readers borrow 325,000 items annually.
