Domžale Chamber Choir was established in 1987 and since 2007 it is led by Fernando Mejias. It mostly performs in Slovenia and often cooperates with other Slovene choirs and vocal groups.


Background

Under the leadership of its first conductor Tomaž Pintar, the Choir has a complex repertoire which in recent years has included Verdi's Requiem, Mahler's Symphony No 8, Mozart's Requiem, Samo Vremšak's Stabat Mater and Alojz Srebotnjak's Škofjeloški pasijon.

The Choir has performed together with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra of Slovene National Theatre Maribor and other choirs (including the RTV Chamber Choir, the Academic Choir Tone Tomšič, University of Ljubljana, the Consortium Musicum Ljubljana, Carmina Slovenica and the Ljubljana Madrigalists Chamber Choir), both in Slovenia and abroad.

International awards
