In addition to lending book and non-book material, the library houses a reading room and a local collection department, which contains various writing on the region. A notable feature is the collection of [[Ferdo Leitinger]], also comprising approximately 3000 old books – the oldest from 1662 –, as well as other documents and photographs. The collection is kept at the manor house of the Lower Castle Pristava, but is available for viewing at the library. As a cultural and information centre, it hosts literary evenings, lectures, book presentations, story-telling hours, creative workshops, and exhibitions. In doing so, the library strives to foster reading culture and lifelong learning. |
