Programme overview
Since its inception in 1983 the Culture House hosted musicians and classical concerts by Dubravka Tomšič Srebotnjak, Irena Grafenauer, James Morrison, Marjana Lipovšek, RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, and many others. The venue also hosts and organises the Slovenj Gradec Summer festival [Slovenjegraško poletje], which hosts regional cultural associations and remains the main cultural attraction of the season in the town and the region Koroška.
As a partner town of Maribor, European Capital of Culture 2012, Slovenj Gradec focused on the famous citizen, composer Hugo Wolf. In 2012 the renovated museum and a documentation centre devoted to Hugo Wolf were opened and the first international workshop on classical solo singing was organised.
