Programme
A broad collection of films of diverse genres, ranging from documentaries to animations, is presented at several different locations, among them also Kinodvor Cinema, Slovenian Cinematheque, Škuc Gallery, and City Museum of Ljubljana.
The 2012 round tables and discussions accompanying the screenings focus on the following central themes: economic migration and undocumented migrants, female migrations, and Europe’s role in the protection of refugees fleeing from the war-torn regions. Professionals, international film-makers and activists are invited to share their insight on a current migration trends, their opinions on the causes and consequences of migration, and their personal experiences related to the discussed topics.
Accompanied by several side events with live concerts, choir singing, storytelling, and tasting traditional cuisines, the festival also offers a glimpse of the cultural diversity of our society.
International cooperation
Since 2012 a new thematic section Voyages Through Forgotten Place features a series of short films, produced by young film makers exploring migration-related topics in Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia. The project is made in close cooperation of three civil society organizations: Zavod Voluntariat from Slovenia, Restart from Croatia, and Youth Center CK 13 from Serbia.
