Established in the early 1980s in central Ljubljana, [[Krka Gallery]] in Novo mesto hosts a regular programme of exhibitions and is one of the most important venues for contemporary visual arts, where painters, sculptors, designers, photographers and occasionally poets meet to collaborate together. Before acquiring a permanent exhibition space Krka presented art from the 1970s onwards in the entrance hall of an office building in Novo mesto and organised a painting group called Krka Painters Meeting. Today Krka cultural events also take place at Otočec, in Ljutomer and at the spa towns of Dolenjske toplice and Šmarješke toplice.
