Argo is the most important professional publication of Slovene museum experts dealing with art history and the museology of antiques and the medieval period. Papers are in Slovene with abstracts in English. The magazine is exchanged internationally within museum networks.

Originally established in :1962 as a bulletin of archaeology, art history and museology (up to 1964), Argo subsequently became a specialist journal dealing with art history and the museology of antiques and the medieval period. Since 1971 the magazine has been a twice-yearly co-publication of the National Museum of Slovenia, the Association of Slovene Museums and the Slovene Museum Society.
