The Library Association of Ljubljana is a voluntary, independent, non-profit organisation of librarians. It aims to develop library science in theory and practice in order to raise the level of library activities and staff education. Its objectives are a good library network and the unity of the information system. It organises lectures, meetings and visits and, if necessary, raises library issues in the public media. The Association is active in Ljubljana Urban Municipality and the surrounding municipalities of Borovnica, Brezovica, Cerknica, Dobrepolje, Dobrova-Horjul-Polhov Gradec, Dol pri Ljubljani, Domžale, Grosuplje, Hrastnik, Ig, Ivančna Gorica, Kamnik, Kočevje, Litija, MO Ljubljana, Logatec, Loška dolina, Loški Potok, Lukovica, Medvode, Mengeš, Moravče, Ribnica, Škofljica, Trbovlje, Velike Lašče, Vodice, Vrhnika and Zagorje ob Savi.
The Association is a member of the Union of Associations of Slovene Librarians.
