The villa
Villa Bartolomei is a two-storey building with a preserved Late Baroque exterior, which is especially obvious from the northern façade: the central axis is accentuated by a massive stone portal on the ground floor and a balcony on the first floor. In 1980 the building, damaged by the 1976 earthquake, was allocated to the Goriška Museum to arrange a collection of recent history there. One year later the interior was renovated according to plans by architect Bogdan Mikuž and converted into museum exhibition rooms.
