Seminars and lectures
Recently the Institute hosted the legendary American graphic designer Milton Glaser who presented his book Drawing is Thinking [Risanje je mišljenje] and featured the exhibition in the Vžigalica Gallery. The Institute hosted also Stefan Sagmeister (New York), Oliviero Toscani (Pisa), Paula Scher and Seymour Chwast (New York), Jonathan Barnbrook, Rick Poynor and David Ellis (London), April Greiman (Los Angeles), Luc(as) de Groot (Berlin), Philippe Apeloig (Paris), Alan Fletcher (London), and Stephen Doyle (New York).
Exhibitions
Emzin organises the annual Emzin Magazine Photography of the Year Competition which rewards Slovenia’s best photography, and also curates exhibitions on graphic design, illustration and photography on behalf of Avla NLB Gallery, Ljubljana, which presents established and emerging artists and designers. Mirko Ilić, Kostja Gatnik, Blue Note Publishers, Paula Scher and Seymour Chwast, Jasna Andrić, Aleksandra Vajd, Meta Krese, Philippe Apeloig, April Greiman and Franco Pinna are just a few of the artists who have been presented.
