The predecessor of Radio Koper was established in 1949 as Radio of Yugoslav zone of Trieste. Originally it was broadcasted in Slovene, Croatian and Italian. After 1954 the transmission was conducted in Italian and Slovene.
Besides international news and news from Slovene political, economic, social and cultural life, the station focuses on minority community events and news. It also features numerous cultural programmes, including Spazio attualita' cultura - Oddaja o kulturi which focuses on current cultural events.
