Radio Slovenia International (Radio Si) was formed in 1985 with the broadcast in German, English and Slovenian, primaraly aimed for foreign and ex-pat audience living in Slovenia. The programme is emited from the studios of Radio Maribor, a service of RTV Slovenia Regional Broadcasting Centre Maribor. It features music, information and current political, business, cultural and sports news from Slovenia and abroad. Its essential feature 24 hours per day traffic reports and weather forecast, mainly devoted to tourists.

In 2001 the Radio gained the stauts of a national broadcast provider for foreign audience. It is considered to be a more relaxed station aimed at the international audience with lots of music interspersed by information, current affairs, business news, culture and sports.

The Radio is a part of the European Radio Network (EURANET), for which it prepares ten minutes reports from Slovenia.
