This was the most complex presentation to date of Slovene ceramics in Slovenia, and the aim was to promote the discipline both nationally and internationally. The first Biennial presented 31 artists. The international jury included guests Nicholas Lees from Bristol Polytechnic and Hanibal Salvaro from Zagreb, Croatia. In the first year the first prize was bestowed on Danica Žbontar.
