The Kočevje Union of Cultural Societies and the local unit of the Public Fund for Cultural Activities facilitate the activities of numerous cultural associations. In 2012 the Municipality of Kočevje bestowed the first Deklica s piščalko award for professional excellency in arts, humanities and culture.
