Max Club in Velenje, operating since 1991, organizes and hosts concerts of various genres. Among appearances of Slovene and some foreign rock and pop music artists (Bajaga, Partibrejkers, Rambo Amadeus, Miladojka Youneed, Peter Lovšin, Magnifico, Anja Rupel, Strelnikoff, Defunkt etc) an important part of club’s concert activities is directed to jazz music.

Max Club Jazz Festival

From 1999 till 2002 the club organized the Max Club Jazz Festival with a parallel Max Jazz Club Clinic, a series of workshops for young jazz musicians led by the late percussionist Boško Petrović. In March 2012 the club renewed the festival under the curatorship of Jure Pukl. The international programme featured Doug Johnson Trio, Kaja Draksler's BadBooshBand, Mike Sponza Blues Band, and others.
