TIR - Mostovna Gallery
The exhibitions are often accompanied by music performances or poetry readings, and the gallery is sometimes also used for various other performances and events.
Exhibitions
Of the artists (photographers, painters, sculptors, multimedia producers, etc) who presented their works at TIR, one can randomly name Uroš Weinberger, Tomaž Šantl, Urban Kravos, Nina Bric, Nežka Zamar, Maja Poljanc, Aljoša Kravanja, Tinka Volarič, Enej Gala, Lučka Šparovec, Tea Curk Sorta and Jan Outrata. Their primary common ground is that they belong to the younger creative generation.
Some of the Italian artists on display were Franco Pinna, Roberta Buschian, Alice Pizzinato and Roberta Battiston, but there was also a number of collective shows by artists from both sides of the border. One of them, for example, was a photography project on the unitary urban space of Gorizia and Nova Gorica. It was called Open perspectives and was done as an international joint project by TIR – Mostovna Gallery, Društvo humanistov Goriške, I Cormanuti, Mittelpoint, and A.P.S. LAB – centro promozione benessere. One can as well mention a survey exhibition of Serbian graphic arts in the 90s, which was presented by Miloš Đorđević.
Sometimes, the Pixxelpoint International Festival of Computer Art partly takes place at TIR. In 2011, for example, Gülsen Bal (Turkey, UK, Austria: Open Space – Zentrum für Kunstprojekte) and BridA curated the show.
Venue
The venue is about 100m² big and incorporates about 50 linear metres of wall space. They've got a basic installation equipment like panels, hanging rods, halogen lighting system and the good old hammer-and-nail installation system. The gallery is supplemented with a small stage, which can serve to many purposes.
