Dom Kulture muziKafe
Programme
Preprogrammed events usually take place at MuziKafe at least once per week, but sometimes also happen twice or even thrice. Aside from music, literature probably figures as the most consistent programme theme and the place has hosted both the established writers and poets like Feri Lainšček, Vinko Moderndorfer and Boris A. Novak as well as representatives of the younger generation like Aljoša Harlamov and Goran Vojnovič (his theatre show Čefurji Raus was also staged here). Some of these evenings are organised together with Beletrina Publishing Institute, as for example the wine tasting & arts discussions series Huda pokušnja.
There have also been theatre performances by Rozinteater and Branko Završan, lectures by well known travellers like Benka Pulko and Tomo Križnar, photo exhibitions by Jure Eržen and Stojan Kerbler and numerous other events that often gather crowds from other cities in the region.
Music
The long and diverse list of remarkable Slovenian musicians playing on the stages (be it the cellar or the outside terrace) of MuziKafe includes Vasko Atanasovski Trio (Vasko himself is almost a resident artist here), Brina, Silence, Aphra Tesla, Katalena, Godalika, Orkestrada, Autodafe, Uršula Ramoveš in Fantje z Jazbecove grape, Zoc Bilbi, Jure Pukl Quartet and Kaja Draksler Acropolis Quartet.
Of the foreign guests, one can name the (Ljubljana based) Chris Eckman (of The Walkabouts), the Indian tabla player Pandit Suresh Talwalkar, the Italian accordionist Simone Zanchini and the Tibetan singer Soname Yangchen.
