The festival Gora Rocka takes place on Šentviška planota, a plateau at the foothills of the Julian Alps. Established in 2005, it has managed to consistently attract more and more visitors (up to 10k), which is mainly due to the idyllic location and highly professional organisation, supported by a bulletproof line-up of well-established Slovene rock acts and big names from surrounding countries. All this for a very affordable price, yet another of the festival's traits.

Besides rock music, the festival's other main theme is charity, as each year the profit goes to local community, individuals, and charitable institutions. Over the years of the festival's existence, they have donated over 200 thousand euros!

Festival programme

The festival has hosted most of the big Slovene mainstream rock bands such as Tabu, Big Foot Mama, Zmelkoow, Zablujena Generacija, Elvis Jackson, The Drinkers, Siddharta, Mi2, Don Mentony Band, Pankrti, Niet, Nude, and Dan D. There were also well-known bands from ex-Yugoslavia like Prljavo kazalište (HR), Let3 (HR), and Dubioza kolektiv (BA), various tribute bands like Hollywood Rose (HU), a Guns N' Roses Tribute Band, and Kiss Forever band (HU), as well as dozens of others. The festival also organizes a public call, where emerging groups can apply and compete for a performance slot at the festival. Alongside 2 days of music concerts, the festival also arranges for camping and organises various sport and fun activities like volleyball football, badminton, cards, frisbee, boules, beerpong, slip'n'slide and tabletop games. #ECOROCK

Gora Rocka is a festival that takes place in pristine nature, and therefore organizers do everything they can to minimize its impact. They serve drinks exclusively in washable cups of all sizes, mix coffee with sugar using wooden stirrers, and sip cocktails through special straws.

Rockers' Tree Alley

The biggest rock stars performing at the festival plant a tree every year. In 2023, members of the bands Laibach, Zablujena generacija, MRFY, and Slon in Sadež did so. With this, organisers aim to preserve the nature in which the festival takes place. Through the alley of trees, they give back fresh air to nature, without which there is no life, no food, no beer, and no rock!
