The Likovni salon Celje (Likovni salon Gallery) is a referential contemporary arts space where exhibitions of Slovene and international artists are featured. Many exhibitions extend to other venues managed by the institute. The gallery opened in 1963 as a modernist white cube space in the ground floor of the Narodni dom cultural house and was initially managed by the local Association of Fine Artists, since 2005 it is managed by the Celeia Celje Institute - Centre for Contemporary Arts.

Programme

The Likovni salon Celje presents approximately 10 exhibitions and numerous interdisciplinary events each year. The organisers encourage cooperation with freelanced curators from Slovenia and abroad. Special attention goes to curators and artists of the Celeia Celje Institute - Centre for Contemporary Arts' artist-in-residence programme AiR Celeia Celje. Likovni salon Gallery often hosts also other galleries or organisations that present their projects in the city of Celje (Ganes Pratt Gallery in 2008 or the Celje Association of Fine Artists, on a regular basis).
