Launched in 1993, Studio Signal TV is the oldest local television station in Ljubljana. It began broadcasting as a news and current affairs station covering current issues affecting the municipality, including the economy and politics, but its coverage was later broadened to cover culture, sport, entertainment, children's programmes and music. Studio Signal TV broadcasts for six hours each day and its programming includes news, documentaries, entertainment, education, sport and youth programmes.
In 1999 Studio Signal TV joined the 3rd TV Network, which bound it together with four other regional TV stations - Vaša Television (VTV), TV Primorka, Vaš kanal and TV AS - with the aim of covering broader territory and exchanging programmes. Studio Signal functions as the headquarters of this network.
Studio Signal is a member of Association of Slovene Local Television Stations (LTV Slovenia).
