About
Boris Balant studied art history and ran Škuc Gallery from 1986 to 1987. After the design studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, he briefly collaborated with the design department Novi kolektivizem of the collective Neue Slowenische Kunst. From 1995–2008 he worked in LUKS Studio, which he established together with Lena Pislak. In 2009 he established the Atelje.Balant graphic design studio.
Human1st designs and implements strategic systems for the development of brands, logos, packaging and products and websites. They use strategic design to build audiences, target audiences, social networks, users, critical mass, and followers of their work. The studio is ethically conscious of its work and does not accept projects they consider ethically objectionable projects. Among many recognitions, Human1st received the award for designing the most beautiful Slovenian book (Constructivism and Kosovel) at the 2015 editions of Slovene Book Fair.
