Synaptic is a group of Ljubljana-based producers, DJs, and VJs, who perform, promote and creatively collaborate in a heterogeneous field of underground electronic music and multimedia art. They also organise club events (most often at Klub K4) and festivals, as well as run a record label called Synaptic Pathways.
Ever since being founded in 1998, Synaptic is exploring and representing electronic genres such as IDM, all kinds of techno and house, minimal, bass, and other alternative electronic post-genres. They have hosted prominent foreign artists from the underground electronic scene, starting with Jan Jelinek, Tim Hecker, Ben Frost, Mike Shannon, Deadbeat, Frivolous, Moomin, Move D, Sutekh, Akiko Kiyama, Masayoshi Fujita, Claro Intelecto, Shackleton and many more.
Currently the most active current members of the Synaptic crew are Symann/Ulix, Zergon, Utti, Nitz, Freeverse and Mesec, all of whom frequently perform at different events around Slovenia and abroad.
