Festival of Medieval and Renaissance Music
Programme
Each year the festival attracts more tourists as the programme that is presented includes performances by internationally-renowned and local musicians, dancers, swordsmen, actors and other artists from Croatia, Serbia, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain and Slovenia. The Festival focuses on bringing it's audience an experience of Medieval and Renaissance culture and art with a myriad of events which include music concerts, theatre plays, workshops and puppet shows for children.
Music
Each year The Festival of Medieval and Renaissance Music features virtuoso performances by chamber music ensembles such as Tasto Solo (Spain), Gallus Consort (Italy) and Musica Cubicularis (Slovenia). The musicians play on early instruments and focus on rendering a historically informed performance. The music repertoire includes songs, madrigals and instrumental works by international and Slovene composers such as Girolamo Dalla Casa, Giovanni Bassano, I. Gallus, G. Prenner, and G. Puliti.
