Nikki Louder is a noise rock trio from Kamnik, comprised of Blaž Sever on guitar and vocals, and brothers Luka on drums and Peter Cerar on bass and synth. Since being formed in 2007, they have been actively present in the Slovene alternative scene, both with releasing albums and performing. They could be labelled as a music equivalent of a three-time Formula One World Champion, Niki Lauda's fast and furious driving. Their sound is an abrasive noise, sometimes rhythmical and slow and at other times messy, chaotic and furiously fast. Their live performances correlate with all of the aforesaid adjectives, but are enhanced with loud and energetic aggression. Seeing the frenetic drumming of their drummer might give associations of a little boy doing his very best at drumming, and succeeding, the vocalist sings mostly in a screaming manner, letting out his raucous and mostly incomprehensible shriek and at the same time almost tortures his guitar, whereas the bassist attentively and rhythmically accompanies all the action.

The band members are associated with two underground music collectives, Cheap Tunes Records and Rnka Rnka, a concert booking team.

Discography and live performances

In 2007, when they were formed, they already started performing and recording their first debut, a five-track EP Silent Bird, which was self-released in 2008. The same year they were selected among new perspective music acts on Club Marathon, organized by Radio Študent and they have been one of the Radio Študent's household names sever since. They recorded new songs at the radio and in 2009 released their first full-length album, Our World Died Yesterday for Založba Radio Študent and Cheap Tunes Records. In 2011, as a collaboration between Moonlee Records, Cheap Tunes Records and Založba Radio Študent, their second full-length album Our World Died Yesterday was released.

They have toured Europe, from Balkans up to UK. So far they have mainly performed in small clubs, with an exception of a few larger events and summer festivals, such as a tribute to Nirvana’s Nevermind 20th anniversary in Ljubljana, Moonleejada, Trnje Festival, Trnfest, Kamfest, and independent hardcore festival Fluff Fest in Czech Republic.
