Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Slovenia
Bilateral cooperation in the field of culture
The Agreement between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Armenia on Cooperation in the Fields of Education, Science and Culture was signed in Yerevan in Armenia on 11 October 2010.
The Agreement stipulates the promotion of mutual cooperation of institutions and organisations working in the fields of culture, education, science, and art, as well as the exchange of art-related, scientific and educational literature. It also promotes the cooperation of state radio and television networks, cinema, press, and electronic media. Both parties will promote the teaching and studying of the language and literature of the other country as well as cooperation between sports institutions and youth organisations.
Cultural cooperation
In 2010, in the framework of the Armenia Close Up Festival and in cooperation with Armenia's State History Museum exhibition Armenian Tradition Between the Secular and the Sacred about the Armenian cultural history of early Christianity was held at Cankarjev dom. With its focus on Armenia's music, literature, art, and cinema, the programme gained much attention from experts and the general public.
Intensive cooperation, established in 2006 between the SCCA-Ljubljana Centre for Contemporary Arts, its school World of Art: School for Contemporary Arts, and the Armenian National Association of Art Critics (NAAC), resulted in an annual international seminar for art curators, held at various venues in Armenia. Over a period of five years, more than 100 international participants attended the seminars in Armenia in which numerous guest experts, curators, and researchers in the field of curatorial contemporary art practices spoke and shared their knowledge.
