This private drama school for young people was founded in 1990 by the theatre actress Barica Blenkuš. Barica Blenkuš Drama School collaborates with numerous Slovene theatre practitioners and pedagogues, plus some international guests. Besides collaborating with primary and secondary schools and offering courses for tutors of performing arts activities, the school also offers a programme for adults.

The school prepares 2–3 public presentations per year, including a small festival of final productions, usually held in Dance Theatre Ljubljana, where the students present their work in the proper theatrical context.
