The annual Transgenerations Festival of Youth Creativity was launched in 1984 with the aim of providing a public platform for art and culture produced by secondary school students in Slovenia and in Slovenian-speaking areas beyond the country's borders. It takes place in spring at Cankarjev dom and is curated by a jury that selects the projects in advance from those submitted by secondary schools and youth groups. The selected works may belong to the fields of theatre, dance, film, photography, visual arts, and comics. The festival concludes with awarding the best works from each category.

PARTICIPATING INSTITUTIONS

The festival also provides a platform for various institutions involved in art education for the young, such as Maribor Dance Room, Celje Dance Forum, the Qulenium Cultural Association and the Public Fund for Cultural Activities (JSKD).
