The only editon of the MotörCity Festival was held at Sotočje in Tolmin in 2017. It was conceived as a 'blues, rock in motorcycle festival.' As it turned out that the audience was not so much related to biking culture as to the blues music, the organiser decided to bring the next edition of the blues music festival to Ljubljana, naming it the Bluesland Festival. MotörCity Festival is the only and possibly the first large Slovene festival dedicated almost exclusively to blues music. It styles itself as a 'blues, rock in motorcycle festival', meaning that its programme should partly lean on the biking culture and aesthetics. The first edition of MotörCity will be held in August 2017.

The festival is located at one of the more prominent summer festival locations, at Sotočje in Tolmin. This idyllic junction of two Alpine rivers also hosts festivals such as Metalcamp and Punk Rock Holiday.

The confirmed artists for 2017 edition of the festival include Chris Thomas King (UK), Hans Theessink (NL) & Terry Evans (US), Henrik Freischlader (DE) and Prismojeni Profesorji Bluesa.
