Presented by the Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia since 2013, the Ksenija Hribar Awards honour professionals in the field of contemporary dance in Slovenia whose excellence and innovative work significantly contribute to the quality and development of contemporary dance in Slovenia. The awards are presented by an expert jury at the closing event of the biennial Gibanica (Moving Cake) Festival of Slovene Dance.

About

Intended to promote the overall development of the field of contemporary dance, the awards are conferred biennially to choreographers, dancers, performance artists, dance educators, critics, theoreticians, producers, and stage designers to recognise achievements in various categories.

The awards are named after choreographer and dancer Ksenija Hribar (1938–1999), who played a key role in the early institutionalisation and professionalisation of contemporary dance in Slovenia.
