The Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS) (previously known under the name Slovene Research Agency (ARRS)) is an independent public funding organisation that performs tasks related to the National Research and Development Programme and the creation of a European Research Area. The agency was established by the Slovene government in 2003. The bodies of the agency are the Management Board and the Scientific Council, the highest decision-making body representing six scientific disciplines.

Mission

ARIS provides a framework for scientific research within the national budget and other resources, promotes high-quality scientific research, fosters internationally-comparable evaluation standards, provides transparency of organising research community in Slovenia, stimulates international research cooperation, analyses research activities and provides science policy expertise
