Mission and activities
ŠOU advocates for quality education, and by organizing numerous sports, cultural, educational, and entertainment events, it ensures the diversity and quality of extracurricular life. It is a professional organization of all students of the University of Ljubljana with collective membership and operates on the principles of parliamentary democracy.
The highest representative body is the Student Council, composed of 42 faculty representatives who are elected in biennial student elections. The Student Council elects the Presidency, which is led by the President along with five department heads.
The mission of ŠOU v Ljubljani is to represent the interests and rights of students and to strive for their realization, particularly in the area of improving the academic and social conditions of students studying at the member institutions of ŠOU v Ljubljani.
The purpose of ŠOU v Ljubljani is to structure positions on various social and student issues in a democratic manner and to lead student policy in areas that are important to the student public.
In addition, ŠOU v Ljubljani is also engaged in the implementation of interest-based and extracurricular activities, ensuring a vibrant student life.
