The house has two rooms, one for shoe craftmanship and second room which was used as a living quarters. Housing is replicated to represent real authentic shoemaker's house. In the workshop vintage equipment that was used for crafting shoes, original shoe-making materials, old leather machines from the 19th and 20th century, tools, and accessories are on display.

Opened in 1979 by footwear industry Planika, the Shoemaker's Museum in Turnišče is located in a typical Prekmurje straw-thatched house opposite the industrial plant. Turnišče has a long tradition of shoemaking, shoe guild, and the footwear industry Planika.


Collection

The collection is presented in a typical Prekmurje house, as was once the home of a shoe maker's family and its trade. The house has two rooms, one for shoe craftmanship and second room which was used as a living quarters. Housing is replicated to represent real authentic shoemaker's house.
