The museum is dedicated to the Semič history and people and displays also the natural science and viticulture collections. There are also a gallery, a wedding room, and the Semič tourist office. On the façade there is a bust of [[Lojze Krakar]] (1926–1995), a poet and translator who was born in Semič. In 2019 the venue and its collections were renovated, focused on the Bela krajina Nature Centre. |

The exhibition on the first floor introduces visitors to the history of Semič and its environs and the life of the population from pre-history to the end of the Second World War. The Nature of Bela Krajina, the natural science collection on the ground floor, presents rich flora and fauna of Bela krajina and its protected nature areas.
In the cellar is a viticulture collection restored in period style and separated from the adjacent tasting area by a nearly invisible glass wall. The interior decoration is that of a former Bela Krajina zidanica ("vineyard cottage") still made of wood.
