About
Phainomena is the pre-eminent journal for phenomenological and hermeneutic philosophy in Slovenia and the first of its kind to emerge in Central and Eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall. It brings together philosophers, academics and researchers from Slovenia and worldwide in an effort to open a space for new discussion, dialogue and perspectives. This process is bound with the body of the European spiritual tradition but also transcends its boundaries and frames. Also notable are translations of seminal philosophical texts and treatises into Slovenian, which greatly contribute to and advance Slovenian philosophical terminology. Some of the authors translated include: Aristotle, Freud, Derrida, Heidegger and Nietzsche.
Phainomena's website features an archive of past issues and, also noteworthy, a forum that fosters reflection, discussion and commentary as well as provides a range of information relating to this sphere of knowledge.
