Caps or lowercase
I think that the word should be capitalised when it is a part of the name - e.g. Piran Branch, Maska Magazine? Otherwise - like you say - the lowercase use should be practicised when talking about general terms in the text, and not the title - e.g. Piran archives (piranski arhiv). It also depends on the situation - in Piran the archives were annexed (formally) to the Koper - but the collection (that is the focus of our attention) remained where it was, that is why we use municipal archives and Piran archives in the text, and not Piran Branch so much...
Hope I got it right - please see Regional Archives of Koper and Regional Archives of Koper, Piran Branch, I added some details as I found out that the Koper archives is on other premises and the Piran street address was not changed, etc. This is the thing to be checked in final editing, but in this case I would ask you to reread it. During the weekend I shall look through all archives - and also add the general overviews where there is some precious information to be linked, too.
There is another instance: in the text we often shorten the longish name ... saying: "The department keeps ..." and in this case it could be The Department (so that the reader knows that we are referring to the Dpt in the title??) --Editor 12:18, 13 February 2010 (CET)
Italics?
Jana, the question that keeps popping up during today's šiht was: should we put the names of AWARDS and FESTIVALS when mentioned in the texts (e.g. Magdalena) into italics or not? It seems that this is the rule, however we were not strict with implementing it up to now... Please reassess, thanx! Quite dovolj za danes:) Bye, 4x --Editor 17:03, 11 February 2010 (CET)
- Festivala and Awards should be Capitalized but not Italicized. Sorry for my lapse, er, lapsus. Jana Wilcoxen 18:44, 11 February 2010 (CET)
- One more thing, the names of the exhibitions or themes of festivals should be italicized, however. For instance, I have left Days of Oris without, but Ljubljana Days of Oris and Portugal Days of Oris in italics, since they are themed events, so to speak.
- Another example: the 52nd Venice Biennial and its theme: Think with the Senses – Feel with the Mind. Art in the Present Tense. Jana Wilcoxen 18:58, 11 February 2010 (CET)
Ping Pong with Editor
- Jana, dobro si rešila - transferring a part of text into the Discussion. I would ask you to proofread two sentences I added to Slovenian Cinematheque. As today it is 5 year of Furlan's death, I added his contribution into the Cinematheque article... under teaser - I shall have a look a bit later at an article as a whole. --Editor 19:01, 22 April 2010 (CEST)

Translations of titles in the text
How to fix Slovene titles and their translation within the body of the text? e.g. Pekarna ('bakery'); revija Kreativni Klik ('Creative Click Magazine'); Likovne besede (in English: Art Words) Magazine; Stari Pisker, in English "Old Pot" -> Culture.si Manual of Style (MOS) --Admin 10:40, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- If the translation of the Slovene name is more for information, that is, the name is typically not translated into English, say with Pekarna, then use this format:
- * Pekarna [Bakery] Cultural Center was established in Maribor in ...
- * Cankarjev dom [Cankar's House] is one of the largest venues in Ljubljana.
- ...to be continued
Name
Cultural Profiles used this form Josip Pelikan Photographic Studio, Celje although Celje is not part of the official name (as opposed to Celje Museum of Recent History. We redirect? Admin 19:23, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, we redirect to Josip Pelikan Photographic Studio. I think you've already taken care of this one, but just in case, will write the solution here in talk. Jana Wilcoxen 13:18, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Slovenian/English names as titles, brands, etc.
- hi Miha, I haven't forgotten your question. Just waiting to discuss larger issue with the editors. I think we have to consider this case-by-case. I have the feeling that some organisations won't always apply to the rule. The regional names sound so odd to me in English (Lower Carniola, Litoral, etc.). Some organisations retain them in their English names, others do not. ... stay tuned for more instructions. For now, just keep the names as they have been. If you have an article which you think should be listed differently than it was in Cultural Profiles, please address the issue here on the talk page or on the talk page of the article. Jana Wilcoxen 13:18, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Nazivi
Dr. gre pred imenom. Jana Wilcoxen 22:57, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Jani, with the editors we have decided not to include mag., dr., etc. in the Infobox but you can use them in the articles. In the articles use Dr., Mag., Professor Jana Wilcoxen 13:20, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Spellchecker
Ivan Pirnat 16:48, 10 December 2009 (CET)
- hm...kateri spletni brskalnik uporabljaš? v mozilli, treba instalirati slovar, right-click na besedo v tekstu (v oknu za urejanje, v katerem si nekaj napisal) in boš videl SPELL CHECK in LANGUAGES. pod LANGUAGES je več možnosti...
- za druge brskalnike, treba vprašati Zokija. vprašala ga bom in ti sporočim.Jana Wilcoxen 23:15, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Terminologija
Archives uporablja tudi v edninski obliki: Npr. the Archives of Republic of Slovenia is / are the largest in Slovenia . V robotu je namreč večinoma uprabljan edninsko… Mi boš močno olajšala, če mi zadevo razložiš… Najlepša hvala, Janez
- Hi Janez, archives takes a plural verb: Archives are, Archives contain ... and best to use always in plural. Hope that helps, Wikipedia has a little more to say about it if you still have some questions ... If I come across something else, I'll let you know. Ciao, Jana. Jana Wilcoxen 10:37, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Reminders for Writers
- think about how an outside reader wishes to make contact with an organisation, what information he/she might be looking for
- link to people through their organisations, see ArtsLink Awards for how this is written
- avoid general terminology without specific backup. For example, words like: many, a lot, several, few, similar invite a more thorough precise explanation in the next sentence, or in the following part of the sentence using such as, including, for example, not to mention.
- sometimes the section "Background" provides more information than "History" -- it allows for a discussion about the surroundings why and when the organisation was started. If we think that organisations are usually started to "fill a hole" in the society or in the cultural offering, then it is interesting to know the motivations and reasons as to why a particular organisation or event has come into being.
