In Slovenia, there is no special award for artists in the new media art sector. New media artists or collectives can be proposed as candidates for one of the Slovenian visual arts awards: the Rihard Jakopič Award, the Golden Bird Award for innovative creation, municipal cultural awards (e.g., the Župančič Award of the City of Ljubljana or the Glazer Award of the City of Maribor) or the main national Prešeren Award and Prešeren Foundation Awards.
Another popular award often bestowed to new media artists is the OHO Group Award, an open-call competition for artists or artist groups 35 years or younger.
Two awards emerged at the end of the second decade of the 21st century: the TESLA Award and the White Aphroid Award, though their lifespans were tied to European projects.
