The association has monitored theoretical and practical achievements in librarianship and the development of the profession, facilitated the advancement of education, and stimulated the exchange of experience. Regular association meetings and regional meetings with excursions and lectures are an important part of its work. The Library Association of Celje organised professional meetings of Slovene librarians in 1981, 1984, 1991 and 1998 and is one of the most active associations. In 2001 a symposium on librarianship development in Slovenia was organised with an accompanying publication. | |
