The beginnings of librarianship in Domžale can be dated back to 1904. Today the [[Domžale Library]] is one of most important information and cultural centres in Domžale, with branch libraries in Mengeš, Moravče, Šentvid, Trzin and Ihan, and mobile library services in Črni Graben and Radomlje. The Domžale Library was officially given the status as the municipal library of Domžale in 1960, although the beginnings of librarianship in Domžale can be dated back to 1904. Today the library is one of the most important information and cultural centres in Domžale, with branch libraries in Mengeš, Moravče, Šentvid, and Trzin, and a mobile library service.


The library maintains a local studies department with literature and other material on the region.
