NOTE: Cultural organizations that engage in cultural activities of both Hungarian and Italian minorities, the Romany community and other minority ethnic groups and immigrants in Slovenia, are numerous. These organizations mostly engage in youth and amateur cultural activities, while the Culture.si database focuses on professional arts and culture. Established as a non-profit cultural association in January 1992 in Ljubljana, the Macedonian Cultural Association is the oldest cultural association founded by a minority from the former Yugoslavia in the new state of Slovenia. It unites several sections: the Bilajana mixed choir, a visual arts section, a sports section, a literary section and the children's workshop Šaram baram. Macedonian language and Macedonian dance courses are organised regularly.

In 2007 a cultural event celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Association took place at the Španski borci Cultural House in Moste.

The Association's programme is funded by the Slovene Ministry of Culture, the Macedonian Ministry of Culture, Ljubljana Urban Municipality and the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia. The Association also collaborates with the Macedonian Union of Cultural Associations, Slovenia.
