Their music is a fine mixture of funk, breakbeat, Balkan rhythms, rock and afro sounds, escorted by powerful live performances, easily suitable for wild dancing. Jimmy Barka Experience (named after Džimi Barka, a character from an old Serbian film called When I'm Dead and Gone and played by Dragan Nikolić) first appeared on the monthly funk event called Zeleno Sonce held at Gala hala in 2010, since then they have opened for Ursula Rucker, Gramatik and Parov Stelar, performed a wide number of solo shows on different festivals (Druga godba Festival, Etnika Festival, MENT Ljubljana, Pohoda festival (SK), etc.) and were invited to clubs throughout Slovenia (amongst them the Cankarjev dom Cultural Centre and Potemkin Halle (DE)).
