The Ljubljanski grad Public Institute was established in 2011. Its main task is to run and coordinate cultural programme and other events at Ljubljana Castle. Beforehand this function was performed by Ljubljana Festival.

A joint project of Ljubljana Puppet Theatre and the Ljubljanski grad Institute is a Museum of Puppetry which opens in May 2015.
