Pisana Loka Festival is a local summer festival taking place at various locations in Škofja Loka and annually held in August. It that started out in 2008, at first being quite a modest thing with a few concerts. Since than, it has grown to be a ten packed days long event, encompassing music concerts, theatre, urban sports, stand-up comedy, childrens programme, film screenings and more. The name of the festival means Colourful Loka, which is an old way Škofja Loka was sometimes called, alluding to the charms of the town.

Made with urban reinvigoration plans in mind, Pisana Loka was at first a name just a for a few summer events in the city centre. In 2011, the festival organisation was handed over to Zavod O, a cultural association run by the local youth, and its ambitions noticeably rose. It started connecting the various local institutions, groups and actors, from the local skateboarders, the pensioners society, Ivan Tavčar Public Library, the scouts,

Up until now, Pisana Loka hosted bands such as Laibach, Bakalina, Uršula Ramoveš in Fantje z Jazbecove grape, Katarina Juvančič & Dejan Lapanja, Vasko Atanasovski Trio, Dan D, Joe Cocker Tribute, Jan Plestenjak, Hamo & Tribute 2 Love – all in all, a varied line-up that jois alternative musicians with big pop acts.
