Miha Maleš (1903-1987) was a local painter and one of the pioneers of modern Slovene graphic arts. Maleš had donated 2,600 of his works to Kamnik town, and in 1979 a gallery bearing his name was opened in a renovated burgher house at 2 Glavni trg. The collection contains all of Maleš' graphic work and a selection of his paintings and other materials. The painter`s work is presented in occasional exhibitions and accompanying catalogues. A selection of works is displayed from different periods of the artist's life, techniques and themes.
