Much of Ptuj’s cultural heritage is preserved in Ptuj Regional Museum and its branches and in the state funded Historical Archives of Ptuj. The private Minorite Order Library is another important cultural institution in the town. tuj has 14 active cultural associations, which co-organise traditional annual events such as Katarina's Fair (November), Kurentovanje Masquerade (February), the Ptuj Festival of Folk Music (Summer), the Cultural Marathon (Summer), Ptuj Summer Nights (Summer) and numerous amateur theatrical and amateur choral meetings.
