Launched in 2004, DokMa is an annual documentary film festival that aims to present and promote a documentary film genre. The Festival endeavours to foster international and inter-regional networking, offering workshops and lectures by invited documentary film makers and other guests. In 2006 the festival hosted 30 guests from the Netherlands, Denmark, Montenegro, Croatia, Argentina, Austria, France, Ukraine, Iran, India and Slovenia. The Festival comprises four categories: Main Programme, InterRegional Retrospective, and the two competitive categories, Great Documentaries and Parallels. The Festival accepts applications for InterRegional Retrospective and Parallels. In 2006 the best film of DokMa was Nemam ti šta reći lijepo ('I Have Nothing Nice to Say to You') by Croatian author Goran Dević. In 2007 also the two films by Slovene authors - Polona Sepe and a student Kaja Tokuhisa - got awarded.
