Vest.si has been developed as an innovative and contemporary media by a collective of journalists and other media- and web-related experts (among them Jani Sever, Jonas Žnidaršič, Denis Sarkić, Vlado Škafar, Stojan Pelko, Vuk Ćosić, and Ozren Škodrić).
Although depending on the market revenue it has received also grants from the Ministry of Culture, for example, for the Vesti na Vesti [News on Vest] daily show and for the adaptation of the online game Lettris into Slovenian language.
Originally conceived for Vest.si the Wild Thought columns by renowned theoreticians such as Slavoj Žižek evolved into monthly public fora Wild Thoughts at the Ministry of Culture.
